It's not everyday you meet an agent who came to real estate because of their love of nature! It's true. A lifelong fascination with aquatic ecosystems lead me to a degree in biology which eventually lead to buying conservation land. It's a long-and probably a bit boring-story, but what I've got from it is a unique perspective on negotiating and closing unique real estate deals. I soon began investing in real estate and enjoy buying property, managing construction projects and working with people to do amazing things.
I'm lucky to be married to another lifelong outdoors-person and share a 'cute' craftsman home in Des Moines with (her) menagerie of pets.
I take pride in helping others in all facets of life, and in my real estate transactions I aim to negotiate the best deals for my clients and provide service that they didn't think was possible .
I started my career in real estate while working for one of the largest conservation non-profits in the world, The Nature Conservancy. The Conservancy has a long history of conservation through acquisition, conservation easements and a diversity of other unique real estate strategies. I was fortunate to learn about real estate transactions from a network of extremely creative 'land protection' field staff and attorneys who routinely executed large, complex and creative funding and land acquisition deals.
After leaving The Conservancy, I began my own real estate investing business focused on single family residential properties in the Des Moines metro. I prefer remodeling and building my rental portfolio over 'flipping'.
In 2018 I began building single family rentals for my portfolio and in 2019 started a general contracting business specializing in residential investment properties.
